What is the difference between full-width and half-width Katakana?

Full-width Katakana is standard in modern Japanese text. Half-width Katakana remains useful for legacy systems, constrained fields, and compatibility workflows.

Can I search Hiragana and Katakana by romaji?

Yes. Common readings are indexed, so searching ka finds か, カ, and ｶ. This is a character finder, not a full Japanese sentence-to-kana converter.

Why do some Japanese symbols look different after pasting?

The receiving app chooses the font. Era marks, enclosed forms, and compatibility characters can vary by font or operating system even though the copied Unicode character is unchanged.
