Chinese and Japanese Kanji converter questions

Does converting Chinese characters to Japanese Kanji translate the text into Japanese?

No. The converter changes character forms only. It does not rewrite Chinese grammar, choose Japanese vocabulary, add kana, or translate a sentence into natural Japanese.

Are Japanese Shinjitai and Simplified Chinese the same system?

No. Japan and Mainland China standardized their modern forms separately. Some forms match, such as 国 and 学, while others differ, such as Japanese 芸 and 図 versus Simplified Chinese 艺 and 图.

Which input character type should I select?

Choose the standard used by the source text: Japanese Kanji, Simplified Chinese, or Traditional Chinese. If the source is unclear, distinctive sets such as 芸/艺/藝 and 図/图/圖 can help identify it.

Why do some characters stay unchanged?

Many Han characters use the same Unicode character or common written form across all three standards. An unchanged result is expected and does not mean conversion failed.

Can I use the result for names, places, or official documents?

Treat it as a comparison aid. Personal names, place names, organization names, variant characters, and specialist terms may follow established forms that require an official source check.
